Classroom Rules & Expectations
1. Abide by school rules regarding proper dress, no jackets or bookbags are to be brought into class.
2. Be in class and seated when the bell rings, NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. Come to class organized; be prepared with a pen/pencil, paper, calculator, and binder/folder.
4. No cells phones, electronics (ipods/videogames), or other non-class related items are permitted. Use careful discretion and refer to your student manual regarding these rules.
5. Be respectful and responsible in class. Understand that there is a time and place for your actions, learn what is appropriate.
6. No food or drink is permitted in the classrooms. Also, clean up after yourself!!!
7. If you have problems and need help, see me quickly before it is to late. I am more than willing to help any student who puts forth effort to receive help. However, no extra-credit assignments will be given!
Requirements

Textbook, writing utensil, paper, and either a three ringed binder or 2 one subject notebooks
•
Attendance is vital to your success in this course.
Homework, Lab Reports, Quizzes, and Exams
•
Homework / In class assignments will be given frequently to ensure that students are keeping up with material. These assignments, though not typically lengthy, are an important role in the continued progress in this course and will be graded.
•
Certain labs will require a short report outlining objectives, results, and discussion of results.
•
Quizzes may be either announced or unannounced, but will be used as an assessment in students’ understanding of material and also as preparation for exams. These may consist of multiple choice, true/false, matching, and open response type questions.
•
Exams will be announced well in advance, and will correlate with homework assignments, labs, and quizzes. These may consist of multiple choice, true/false, matching, and open response type questions.
•
I will be available at announced times to help students prepare for these exams.
•
Extra credit assignments will not be given!
Grading Policy (WCPSS policy)
Make-up Work Policy
•
When absent, check with me upon returning for missed assignments.
•
You are allowed 1 day for every absence, to complete work. If the absence is unexcused, the student will receive a
zero for that assignment
•
Suspended students are responsible for all assignments missed, and will also be allowed one day for each missed to complete work.
•
If you miss a scheduled exam or quiz, you are expected to make it up the day you return to class.
•
Late assignments will reduced by 50% each day it is late, and will not be excepted after two days.
•
If you have a planned absence, please notify me ahead of time so that proper arrangements can be made to get assignments prepared.
